Web Prompter is a professional web-based teleprompter application that helps you deliver smooth presentations while maintaining eye contact with your camera. This guide will walk you through all features and how to use them effectively.

Getting Started

Web Prompter consists of two main panels:

  • Left Panel: Text management and file controls
  • Right Panel: Teleprompter display with camera integration

Quick Start

  1. Add your text using one of these methods:
    • Type directly into the „Enter a single phrase” field
    • Import from a text file
    • Paste multiple paragraphs using the „Import from Text” option
  2. Adjust the text size using the +/- controls
  3. Enable camera background if needed
  4. Set up text mirroring based on your teleprompter setup

Basic Features

Text Size Control

  • Use the +/- buttons in the control bar to adjust text size
  • Use the slider in settings for fine-tuning
  • Text automatically scales to fit the display area

Navigation

  • Use arrow keys (Left/Right or Up/Down) to move between texts
  • Use mouse wheel to scroll through texts
  • Click directly on any text in the left panel to select it

Panel Management

  • Drag the center divider to resize panels
  • Use the hide/show panel button to maximize the prompter area
  • All settings persist between sessions

Text Management

Adding Text

  1. Single Entry:
    • Use the input field at the top of the left panel
    • Press Enter or click the + button to add
  2. Bulk Import:
    • Click „Import from Text” to paste multiple paragraphs
    • Use „Import from File” to load from a .txt file
    • Empty lines are used as separators between texts

Text Organization

  • Drag and drop texts to reorder them
  • Use the + icon next to any text to insert a new text after it
  • Edit or delete texts using the pencil and trash icons

File Management

  • Export your texts to a file for backup
  • Clear all texts with the „Clear All” button (with confirmation)
  • All changes are automatically saved locally

Camera Integration

Setting Up Camera

  1. Open Settings (gear icon)
  2. Enable camera in the „Video Background” section
  3. Select your camera from the dropdown list
  4. Adjust background opacity as needed

Video Background

  • Use the opacity slider to balance text visibility and camera feed

  1. Enable recording in settings
